Stephen came over for dinner Tuesday night to meet Mckenna for the first time. Right after he picked her up she welcomed him by filling her diaper.

Aunt Katie stopped by for a visit on her way to Harlingen for Christmas Break. I was so grateful because this gave me an opportunity to take a much needed nap while Mckenna napped on Katie.

Well Check

Today was our first well check with Dr. Humphey. Grandma Linda went with Mckenna and I. Mckenna weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces. I could not believe she has gained a whole pound in just one week. She is still 22 inches long and her head is now 15 inches around. She is in the 97% for her height, 92% for her head circumference, and 88% for her weight. She had her second PKU test and it took everything in me not to start balling once they pricked her foot. The nurse kept squeezing her foot to get more blood and just wanted to pick Mckenna up and take her home. Luckily she calmed down as did I and we were on our way to have lunch with Matt. We go back February 13th for our two month check up and our first round of SHOTS!!!! Matt will definitely have to be there for that one.

Meeting our Pediatrician

Since our pediatrician was not affiliated with the hospital I delivered in we had to visit her office when we came home from the hospital. My mom and I were prepared to walk into the office and sprint to the "well" waiting room. Much to our surprise we were the only people in the office. It was great and our pediatrician was fantastic. Mckenna weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces. We have our first Well Check on December 14th and Dr. Humphrey wants Mckenna to be back at her birth weight by then.

Bath Time

We were scheduled for an induction on Friday morning at 5am. Being her mother's daughter Mckenna had another plan. I went into labor on Wednesday morning around 9am. My contractions began to be consistent that evening. My parents got to Kyle around 2 am Thursday morning and by 4am I was having contractions every 6-7 minutes. I woke Matt and we were off to the hospital. One fantastic epidural and a lot of pushing and Mckenna was here and absolutely incredible. It was by far the most amazing experience of my life and I can't believe she is mine.
